After Queen Elizabeth I, Bess was the wealthiest woman in England and her house was filled with rich furnishings and tapestries. Many site-specific factors will affect the way colours appear, so it’s a good idea to test colour in more than one location, applying over as large an area as you can.
Observe the colours in daylight and artificial light; the difference can be quite significant. Avoid positioning small swatches of several colour immediately next to one another – each will affect the way the others are read. Also, try to avoid comparing the swatch to bright white – this can be equally misleading.
