The Ei208 Carbon Monoxide Alarm is equipped with a powerful, sealed lithium battery designed to last for the entire life of the alarm. It uses a high-performance electrochemical sensor that has been proven to accurately detect toxic levels of carbon monoxide (CO) for 10 years. For guaranteed accuracy, each sensor is individually tested and calibrated with CO gas.
When the alarm detects potentially dangerous levels of carbon monoxide, a red LED will begin to flash. If the gas persists, the alarm will sound. The rate at which the red LED flashes indicates the concentration of CO in the air; the higher the level, the sooner the alarm will sound. This alarm also has an AudioLINK feature, which allows you to use the Ei Electronics app to acoustically download alarm parameters and status information.
The Ei208 performs regular self-checks of its sensor, battery, and internal circuitry. Any fault will be indicated by a series of yellow flashes and beeps. At the end of its 10-year operational life, an "End of Life" indicator will alert you when it's time for a replacement. A useful memory feature means that if the alarm has been previously activated, a red LED will continue to flash for 24 hours (or when you press the Test button), making it easy to identify.
For installation, the alarm comes with a twist-on mounting base that has multiple fixing points for easy and secure attachment to a ceiling or wall. It can also be used as a freestanding unit.
