Frequently Asked Question
What size artificial Christmas tree do I need?
Choose a tree at least 15–30cm shorter than your ceiling, to leave room for the stand and topper. Most Irish homes have ceilings of around 2.4m (8ft), so a 6–7ft tree is usually the best fit. Rooms with higher ceilings or large hallways can take an 8–9ft tree.
Are pre-lit Christmas trees worth it?
Yes, if you want to save time and hassle. Pre-lit trees come with the lights already spread evenly through the branches, so there's no untangling or wrapping each year. Many models, like the Norfolk Leisure Majestic Fir, also have colour-changing LEDs and multiple light settings.
When should I put up my Christmas decorations?
Most Irish households put up their decorations in early December, often on 8 December, the traditional start of Christmas shopping in Ireland. Many families now decorate from late November. Ordering early helps you get the best choice of trees and lights before popular styles sell out.
Can outdoor Christmas lights be used indoors?
Yes. Outdoor lights are built to withstand rain and cold, so they're safe to use indoors too. Indoor-only lights should never be used outside, though. Check the product description for "indoor/outdoor" use, as on the Smart Garden 144 LED Lightvine.
When is the last day to order for delivery before Christmas?
Order as early as possible. Small items usually arrive within 2–3 working days, and large items like trees within 5–7 working days, anywhere in the Republic of Ireland. For last-minute shopping, choose free click & collect from our Thurles store. Order before 11am, Monday to Saturday, to collect the same day.
