Over the past 25 years, Dulux colour experts from their Amsterdam's AkzoNobel Global Aesthetics Centre have gathered insights from trend leaders, cultural events & design to create a unique colour of the year with accompanying colour palettes to suit customer preferences.

What’s the Inspiration behind Colour of The Year for 2022?

Over the past two years we've all experienced the feelings of isolation through lockdowns and come to reassess the important things in life - friends, family, home and the great outdoors. Getting outside and into the fresh air has been a major inspiration in creating the Dulux Colour of the Year 2022 - Bright Skies.

What Colour is Bright Skies?

Bright Skies reflects a move towards lighter colours, with an airy pastel tone of blue that revitalises any space.

What Colours Work with Bright Skies?

Dulux have developed four colour palettes with 37 curated colours to compliment Bright Skies – Greenhouse, Studio, Workshop and Salon. Each palette is completely different showing the versatility of Bright Skies.

Greenhouse Colour Palette

The Greenhouse palette is bursting with colours inspired by nature such as sage and mossy greens paired with slate blues and earthy browns. If you love indoor plants, then Bright Skies is the perfect backdrop shade to make your greenery pop combined with the use of natural materials such as rattan and wood presenting a gorgeous fresh and tranquil interior look and feel.

Studio Colour Palette

The Studio palette creates a space in your home where you can recharge and unwind with airy pinks, reds and oranges can help turn anywhere into a sanctuary. These are colours that console and soothe the soul. 

Workshop Colour Palette

The Workshop Palette has individual shades that are extrovert and gregarious that can stamp an identity on a particular space and define its function just with colour, a perfect palette for zoning specific areas in your home.

Salon Colour Palette

The Studio Palette offers airy neutral tones combined with Bright Skies are perfect for giving any space a fresh start. It’s a blank canvas in any room that will embrace any mix of furniture or furnishings.
